CEO Daddy, Let's Get Mommy

Haunted House

Ch-338

After lunch, the family of three again went back to the Amusement park.

"Reggie, I guess we have seen everything," Esther said as she felt there was nothing left to see.

"Mom! We haven't seen the haunted house." Reggie said.

Esther doesn't know why but from her childhood she was scared of haunted houses. Even though she was uncomfortable for the sake of Reggie, she nodded her head. But the name itself made her stomach churn a million times.

Cyrus noticed her discomfort and felt concerned. "Wifey, you can wait for us here. I will take Reggie with me, okay?" Cyrus said.

Esther wanted to say yes but seeing Reggie's face which was filled with concern for her she wanted to be with him. She let him suffer for many years. She didn't carry him in her womb, didn't go through labor pains, but God gave him to her. Esther wanted to cherish every second with him. Others may think she was overthinking, but she doesn't know why. She felt that something was going wrong.

She couldn't pinpoint where but she knew something very big was going to happen. Her parent's death, finding her trustees, something was wrong with Reggie too. He was turning too sensitive to the point he started crying for everything. Before he got hurt he used to hide it. But now he was crying. He used to heal his wounds, but now he couldn't.

"Yes, mom. Stay here. Dad and I will go," Reggie said.

"I will come," Esther said. They tried to persuade her but she didn't budge. Left with no choice, they agreed with her.

They bought tickets and went inside the house. The theme was a city that was haunted by ghosts and killed everyone in different ways. But only a girl was saved. The head of the ghosts took a liking to the girl and locked it inside a house. If they find the girl who was locked by the head ghost, she will give them a lock of the door beside her, then they can get out of the haunted house.

Esther could feel a chill running through her spine. Suddenly a few images flashed in her mind. Even though they were blurry she knew they belonged to her past. Shaking her head, she walked forward. Cyrus held her right hand with his left while he scooped Reggie in his right hand. Reggie was squealing in joy at the visit of haunted houses.

"Dad, please put me down," Reggie asked.

"Then you shouldn't cry when you are scared," Cyrus said.

Reggie nodded his head. Cyrus put Reggie down and let him down. Reggie walked as he went to the other side of Esther and walked along with her as he danced. Suddenly a hand came and caught Reggie's leg making him yelp slowly.

Reggie could feel something catching his leg. As seconds passed it was holding him tighter. With his right leg, he stomped on the hand repeatedly until a crack sound was heard. Only then the skeleton hand released its grip.

Esther was shocked at the scene but when she saw him breaking the hand of the robot, an image flashed in her mind. A skeleton hand choking her. Was she dreaming in the morning? Shaking her head, she got out of her thoughts. Cyrus was still concerned about Esther. And even Reggie but… he was coping well. He was glad that Reggie was doing well. His concern was Esther only.

"You did great, Reggie. Let's go ahead," Cyrus said, getting Esther and Reggie back from their thoughts. Reggie looked at Esther who looked lost. Esther knew what he was waiting for. Reggie was waiting for praise from her.

"Reggie is the best," she said weekly. The blood of these skeletons was making it hard for her. Shaking her head, she tried to concentrate.

"Esther, are you okay? We can still go back," Cyrus offered.

"Yes, Mom," Reggie said, feeling concerned.

"No… no… let's go ahead." Esther said. Cyrus and Reggie sighed at her stubborn behavior. Shaking their heads they walked further. As they walked further, they saw skeletons filled with blood were thrown on the ground. Humans cosplaying as ghosts came forward to scare them. But the little Warrior Reggie ran after them and scared them instead. It was a pleasing scene to the eyes of others. But the people in the operating room felt troubled.

They felt that their quality was dropped as they couldn't even scare a child of five years old. They couldn't help but pluck their hair. The operating team felt they needed to spice things for this family at the last stage. As they planned they released something.

Esther saw a woman hanging in the ceiling with blood dripping from her neck and wrists. The sight looked gory to her, her eyelids started to twitch. She felt it was familiar to her. She could feel the surroundings changing their locations. Esther tried to live in the present but it was getting hard for her. [Esther… a bit more. You will be better.] she said to herself.

"Why is the theme so lame? Seriously... A human hanging there with blood dripping. I thought this would be scary for my friends. Sigh…. Dad… Let's go ahead. These people are childish," Reggie said as they walked ahead.

The operating team: "..."

It wasn't scary!

What the fuck!

Esther felt someone pulled out of that scary world with a force. When she came she was grateful that Reggie was brave.

They finally found the trapped lady. When they were about to go near, the king of ghosts appeared to hinder them. Esther felt her heart stop beating. She stood still lost at the sight of the horrific ghost.

"Uncle! Can you stop moving!? Don't you feel dizzy?" Reggie asked, crossing his hands against his chest.

The man who was cosplaying the ghost was stunned. But by the time he recovered, Reggie already snatched the key from the trapped lady.

He tried to walk ahead followed by his family but the ghost still hindered them.

"Uncle, stop! We got the key!" Reggie yelled at him feeling annoyed. The man who was cosplaying as a ghost was stumped by his words.
