Ch-287

Reggie, Henry, and Esther… these three spent quality time for the whole day. But it felt like they only came out half an hour ago or so. But it's just that… it's sunset. And everything seemed to move faster. The happiness seemed to turn momentary. The sadness seemed to be momentary too. Yesterday's struggles, yesterday's troubles, the bonds which seemed to be lifelong… everything seemed to be momentary.

But the only thing which wasn't momentary to her was…. The love of her husband. She smiled at the thought of Cyrus. She failed to cherish him in the past. But now she won't lose him. She didn't know her smile scared Henry and Reggie.

They both shared a confusing look.

Henry cleared his throat loudly. But still, Esther was in her La La land. Henry gave another helpless look to Reggie, showing his vulnerability to his only nephew. Reggie shrugged his shoulders helplessly.

Sigh… these days his sister was turning too creepy and going into the dreamland very constantly.

"Earth to Esther!" Henry said, shaking her shoulders.

Blinking her eyes, Esther looked at him in shock. "What?" she said dreamily.

"We reached our home. And we are calling from a long time… but you are immersed in your dreamland that you didn't even recognize the fact that we reached our home." Henry snorted.

Esther coughed in embarrassment.

"Let's head inside…" Esther said and quickly ran inside.

"I am better than her," Reggie commented at her silly behavior, which only brought a smile on Henry but soon it's wiped off.

"Take care of her in my absence," Henry said, gazing at her fading back in the orange glow of the sun. As the sun was setting already the yellow rays were replaced with orange rays giving her a charming vibe. The sky turned darker as the orange rays were being replaced with the dark rays of the welcoming night sky. He didn't peel his eyes from her body till she disappeared from his sight.

"Sure…" Reggie said as he gazed at him.

"Let's go inside," He said and both of them went inside.

The maids already prepared everyone's food by the time they came. They just freshened up and reached the dining hall. By the time everyone gathered around the dining hall… it's already dark.

After the one last, family dinner… Everyone retired to their rooms. Henry asked Reggie to sleep with him. Reggie didn't deny it. They both planned to talk a load of things about Esther. So… Reggie won't lose this chance.

On the other side…

Old Man Charles teleported himself to the old Palace to reminisce his memories as it's his last day on the earth.

Meanwhile…..

Cyrus laid on the bed half-naked, while Esther snuggled to his chest in her bathrobe. No one knew… if she was wearing anything underneath her or not. But one thing was for sure… Cyrus was seduced by her.

"Cyrus…" she called softly. Unlike daily… her voice was softer than usual… which was just even more arousing to him.

"Hmm…" he responded.

She topped over him and cupped his face with her two hands as she stared into his eyes. She pecked his lips and looked back at him.

"Many things have happened these days. I realized that… the people around me and the things around me are temporary. But only your love was permanent. Be it in this life, or last life. I don't want to lose you. I want to know what happened in the past. And what made you so hurt. I just know… You loved me so much. And while… I loved someone else and eventually got killed by him. But who is that man? He is still hunting me down. Everyone says history was repeating. I want to know what happened to me? I don't seem to remember anything. But these days… my nightmares are scaring me. And everyday… I am losing everyone. I am scared. But only your embrace is assuring me.

"Cyrus… Help me in finding myself, Please. I don't want to live in the dark anymore." Esther pleaded.

He removed her hands from his cheeks and cupped her face. "Everyone is born to do something. Do you think your reincarnation as a human is just a folly thing? Everything has a reason, wifey. Finish your duties as a human. You don't know… but your most trusted five confidences also reincarnated. But it's just a matter of time for you to recognize them. When you remember all your spells, recognize your five confidence, and the purpose of your rebirth… Your memories will come back to you.

"And you may not remember everything at the moment… you got your spells, recognizing your confidants and the purpose of your rebirth. But after getting to know these things… your soul would be merged again. Then your memories will return…" Cyrus said.

Esther never knew that there were these things for her to know, just to remember her past life. But as Cyrus said everything has reasons.

"I will be there with you in every step. So… don't worry." Cyrus said.

"Will my reincarnated confidants… remember their past life with me?" Esther asked.

"Hmm… you have to make them remember… I guess… I don't know much about it. But don't worry. Time and fate will guide us together in this journey of life and death." Henry said.

There was silence in the room. In the darkroom, there were two bodies with two souls which were entwined by a single heartbeat. Their thoughts spiraled in different directions or horizons or dimensions or whatever one could say. They could feel that their minds weren't as calm as the room and their silence seemed to be. They both were thinking about the same thing but it's just that their thought process was different. Seconds turned into minutes. The minutes seemed to turn into hours.

"Thank you…," these words left from Esther's mouth after a long silence.

'For being my husband… for being my only support… being my permanent love… being my heartbeat… being patient for me… for having confidence in fate about rebirth… For being my true soulmate' there were many unsaid words in her mind and the heart.

"I love you…" was the only response Esther got from him.
