I have one
Ch-269
"Who are you, Sweety?" Henry mumbled and closed his eyes as he decided to sleep on his empty stomach.
He rubbed his temples and closed his eyes pulling the comforter over him.
Meanwhile…
Esther went to the kitchen and found everything was empty. She sighed at her mother's silliness. How could she forget the existence of her own son? Sigh… She started cooking for her brother. It's past eleven. He must be super hungry. Porridge would take as long as it needs to be cooked for a long time.
Rubbing her forehead Esther looked around the fridge. She saw noodles. Her eyes lit up! She decided to make vegetable noodles, with some meat. And there was some leftover rice in the kitchen. She only needs to make some curry for him.
Rolling her sleeves up, she started chopping the vegetables, and meat. After nearly forty-five minutes she was done cooking. She heated the rice for him again. And also served some chocolate cakes which were lying in the fridge. Esther felt bad for him as he had to eat the leftovers. But making all the dishes would take some more time. Without wasting time, she served all the dishes on a cart and pushed them towards Henry's room before turning off the gas.
She was worried that Henry might be damn hungry. After all, he didn't even have breakfast, and he had no lunch as he fell unconscious due to the morning incident.
And it's going to be twelve soon. So… she has to rush. Esther reached his room and knocked on the door. But she got no response. Sighing… She pushed open the door and pushed the trolley inside the room. She went near him and shook his body, making him frown.
"Brother! Get up," she called out. But Henry was not in the state of opening his eyes. His head was splitting with pain. It's as if a thousand ropes were tugged at once in his head.
"Argh!" he groaned in pain as he held his head in both arms resting his head in her lap finding the warmth in her lap.
"Brother… Brother… what happened?" Esther panicked when she saw his state. She knew he was suffering from a headache, but didn't know what to do. Unknowingly, her eyes turned red as her nerves started getting excited.
She placed her both palms on his both temples as she tried to make him calm down. But I wasn't sure whether this would work or not. But something inside her said that this is the right thing. She was just doing what her heart was saying.
She pressed the space between his brows at the center point of the forehead as it connected to his central nervous system in his spine. Esther doesn't know that some of her energy flowed into his head, calming his nerves. His jumbled memories fell in order. He saw himself admiring a woman in a blue saree. Like a teenager he stalked her everywhere she went but he was restricted to some places as he was just a slave.
But no matter how hard he tried to remember… he couldn't remember her face. "Argh!" he groaned again.
"Brother… are you okay? What's happening? Shall I call the doctor?" Esther asked worriedly.
Henry shook his head in a no as he closed his eyes for a minute before opening them. "I am fine, Twerp," he said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. Which showed he was still recovering from the aftermath of his headache.
"Sigh… brother… I will stay in your room tonight. First get up. I brought food for you. It won't be good if it turns cold," Esther said worriedly.
At the word food Henry's eyes brightened.
"How do you know I am hungry?" he asked in a surprised tone.
"I am not a dumbo, brother. You haven't had a single grain of rice from the moment you woke up. Basic sense would be enough for it," Esther said adjusting her collar.
Henry gave a slight smirk to her actions. He knew what her actions meant, after all he grew up with her from the time she was born. She was asking for pats, praises for her intelligence. Instead of giving what she want he raised his hand and placed it on her shoulders. Esther's eyes brightened, she was going to get some rare pats from her brother! Wow! But her happiness was short-lived, when he placed the hand on her hair before turning it into a bird's nest. Earlier Esther tied her hair into a bun, but now it's not anymore a bun… maybe a bird's nest bun? Whatever… Henry didn't care.
"I am so hungry!" he said to her, diverting her attention again. His little Twerp was so gullible… sigh… he pitied her for a second. But on second thought she was going to be the Queen of Basilisk and even handle Cyrus. She wasn't that innocent. He was innocent for thinking she's innocent. He shook his head and continued to eat his meal.
"There was nothing left in the kitchen, so, It took time to cook food," Esther said, asking for praise from him again.
"Thank you," he said. Instead of praising her he thanked her, making her scowl at him.
He smiled at her reaction, unknowingly… he lifted his hand and rubbed her hair again making her agitated.
"Just wait! I will complain to grandpa…" she pointed her finger at him.
"I will tell Cyrus. He would punish you," he said.
"Punish me? Who? Cyrus? Haha," she smiled at him.
"He would neither punish me nor would allow anyone to punish me! My man is a great one!" she said dramatically as she placed her hand on her chest.
"Sigh… you are such a love sick puppy," he commented.
"At Least… I have someone," she said proudly.
"Even I have one," he said, shocking her to the core.
What!? Does he mean the things he said?
"But who is she!?" she asked out.
"Your sister-in-law," he said matter-of-factly.
Esther: "..."
The thing that Henry received was a roll of eyes from his sister.
