Woven Lies.
"She's gone, Jeonha.."
Chief Hong's resolute voice booms in the silent room.
Silence that was settling amidst Yun Ki's stomach, rising up to his throat and for a moment, he felt as though he was sick.
Sick to his stomach, his insides were rotting.
"Impossible!" Yun Ki roars, shrugging the heavy arm that rests on his shoulder, adding to the burden he feels as though has landed upon him, like a ton of heavy metal.
"Sh-She's left you for another man!" Chief Hong responds, spitefully, head turning away from Yun Ki's wrath.
A sharp slap finds itself being landed on his cheek at the hands of his Master.
Had Min Yun Ki raised his hand on him?
He, who'd been nothing but loyal?
"Shut your mouth!" The man in denial yells, watching how Chief Hong gets slumped backwards from the impact of his palm over his cheek, which now throbs red and raw.
"You're lying to me...how dare you?!"
The Chief composes himself, head bowed before his responsibilities.
"She's left you a note, Young Master. She's left you a goodbye note." He explains calmly, meek hands peeping out of his pockets and producing the letter before Yun Ki, who looks red.
His master had always been a pale man and anger was an emotion that'd show upon his skin, before anywhere else.
"Ridiculous" Yun Ki mutters, snatching the letter from the Chief's grasp.
The desperate sounds of Yun Ki tearing open the envelope fill the room.
He flings the lavender coloured envelope on the wooden flooring, paying it no heed as his blurry vision and clouded mind attempt at making sense of the letters that had been written over the piece of paper.
"Jeonha,
I best believe that my role in your life, has come to an end.
You wanted to be the first one to touch me and make me yours, and you did.
Your desires of deflowering a virgin, have come true.
However I, cannot keep lying to you any further.
Every time you touched me, I felt as though I was being suffocated by a Python, a poisonous one, in whose arms I'd find myself loosing consciousness of me.
I tried to give us a chance but my mind and soul calls out to just one man.
Bohoja.
I've tried erasing parts of him from my memory and yet being in your arms in the depths of the cold night make me wish that it'd be in his arms that I'd find comfort and belonging.
Consider whatever was shared between us as a dream, a sour one.
I was partaking in an act, with you.
The act of earning your trust, your blind faith, which is now allowing me to elope.
I'm leaving behind everything that I ever owed you.
I don't expect of you to forgive me of this treason however, I'd be at peace if you moved on with how you'd been living all these years.
Don't come look for me for I, Soojin, wouldn't want to return back to you.
Furthermore, it'd make you look like a fool, who couldn't take a hint.
Forget me, Jeonha."
Yun Ki feels heavy droplets roll down his cheeks, smearing over the paper and smudging the name he'd been asked to forget.
Soojin.
Was it all a lie?
Had he been scammed at the hands of someone who he believed was the love of his life?
Had he had his heart shattered to pieces the second time?
Yun Ki's heart aches and yet beats at an insane rate where he feels it coursing through his veins passing over his scalp, throbbing and reminding him of how he'd been used and deceived.
The perpetrator had eloped to the man who'd stolen everything from Yun Ki.
How could he have been such a fool?
A goddamn dumb fool to believe that Soojin would fall in love with him, after she'd been canoodling with his brother, behind his back since the very beginning.
Yun Ki realises that he's been biting down over his tongue just when he feels a sharp pain along the tip of his tongue, that'd be bleeding, guessing from the metallic taste looming in his mouth.
There's a curdling he feels in his guts, almost as though rotten milk is finding its way up his oesophagus and pouring into his mouth.
He clutches the letter and runs to the bathroom, bending over his bath.
He exhales and a stream of white curdling exudate escapes past his lips and over the white ceramic floor of his bath.
He watches himself hurl, in the reflection of the mirror, his skin as white as paper and his eyes strained red.
He can't recognise himself.
The glow that had once been a feature of him had been replaced by a dim light.
A dim and dull light.
He feels bile pool into his mouth and the heavy splashes of his vomit touch the floor.
Chief Hong stands behind him, clutching his hair back and rubbing his back.
"J-Jeonha.."
Concern fills his face as he watches a man who was once beaming like the Sun, getting reduced to a paled out corpse.
Yun Ki turns on the knob, using one hand to wash his face.
His limp body, stands upright and Yun Ki's dead eyes face Chief Hong's worried ones.
"Yun Ki-ssi..are you alright? Should I call for the practitioner?"
Yun Ki pays no heed as he stumbles out of the Bathroom, tripping over his feet as he moves to his wooden chest.
The gold plated wooden chest holds the jewels and riches of Baekmin, heirlooms passed down from one generation to the next.
Yun Ki scurries through it as his feverish limbs reach out for the ammunition he'd not used in a while.
The ammunition that he'd used the day his twin had been banished and kicked out of the Kingdom for treachery.
His eyebrows raise as he runs a finger over it.
The Gun.
He uses the pads of his finger to brush over the dusty barrel.
He scrubs through the green jade that lies over the stock of the firearm.
He rises to his feet and Chief Hong's mouth lays open.
He watches Yun Ki stuff bullets into his pockets as he advances towards the exit of his Chamber.
"Jeonha!! Jeonha, wait! You-You're being too impatient!!" The Chief cries after him and yet the only words in Yun Ki's mind are deceit, deception and adultery.
Just as he's advancing towards the exit of his Kingdom, he hears a voice.
"Jeonha, don't go.."
It's Areum's.
As she piles down before him, clutching his thigh.
"D-Don't go, Jeonha.." She cries, digging her head into his leg, holding him back.
Yun Ki points the gun at Areum.
The muzzle hits her head and she feels the cold metal directed towards her skull, as she looks up at him, tear stained puffy cheeks.
"Y-Yun ki..." She mutters, almost scared.
Almost afraid of what he was doing.
Yun Ki's eyes were blinded by rage, they were dark and unrecognisable.
She'd woken the monster within him again, hadn't she?
"Areum, how do you know where I'm going?" He questions.
Areum's shuddering at his feet, avoiding his eyes and looking everywhere, anywhere but at him.
"Je-Jeonha..I.."
"Answer the goddamn question, Areum!!" He roars in unmatched rage as maidservants gather to watch Yun Ki point a loaded gun at Areum.
"How the hell did you know where I was going and why did you stop me??"
Areum takes in a big gulp.
What she'd answer next heavily determined her position in Baekmin.
Not just Baekmin, but decided whether she'd be dead or alive.
"Jeonha..." She whimpers.
Her mind, her devious mind saunters in right then and a bulb glows above her head.
'God bless my scheming mind!' She thinks to herself.
"I..saw her..." Areum whispers.
"I saw..Daebi Mama leave.."
"I saw her sit in a carriage with your twin.."
"I saw them embracing each other and sharing a passionate kiss..."
